From the heart of the Aurina Valley, Mila’s Sasso Nero cheese takes its name from the majestic peak that towers over the Alpine landscape, bringing the strength of the mountains to your table. This hard cheese is striking in appearance, with its dry, black rind that highlights its uniqueness while preserving its bold aroma. Inside, it is compact, with a pale straw-yellow paste and a firm, slightly crystalline texture that melts delicately in the mouth. Its 10-week aging enriches its aromatic profile with intense notes of roasted chestnuts, dried fruits, and honey, while the finish reveals subtle hints of caramel and chocolate, creating a complex, powerful, and unmistakable flavor. Naturally lactose-free (<0.1 g per 100 g) thanks to the traditional production process, it contains galactose. It is made exclusively from fresh mountain milk, produced over 1,000 meters above sea level by 2,100 Mila farmers who care for their pastures and alpine meadows with passion and respect for nature.
